Trilok Kapoor, chairman, state wool federation and general secretary state BJP, today claimed that out of 11 results declared for panchayats for the first phase in Palampur BJP made a clean sweep and captured 10 panchayats where BJP-backed panchayats pardhans were elected. He hailed the victory of BJP in Palampur.
Addressing media persons here this morning, Kapoor disclosed that BJP had won Lahala, Jia, Ghar, Kaloond, Chachian, Lamlehar, Rajehar, Nachhir , and Sungal panchyats , while Congress could win only in one panchayat.
He said results of panchayat elections had proved that people of Palampur had full faith in the policies and development programmes launched by the Jai Ram Thakur. He said not only in panchayats, the BJP had got landslide victory in municipal elections held last week. Besides, the BJP would play important in the formation of other municipal councils where BJP-candidates had won elections.
Kapoor said the BJP was prepared for the elections of Palampur and Dharamsala municipal corporations due in March. After the completion panchayat elections the BJP would declare the names of its candidates for both the municipal corporations.
He said the party was also preparing itself for 2022 assembly elections. The BJP national president J P Nadda would visit the state to mobilize the party cadre. He would personally meet the party workers in different districts.
