Nahan, March 3

Due to the deteriorating weather conditions, normal life has been disrupted in the state. Traffic on the national highway (NH) 707, which connects the trans-Giri area to other parts of the district, has been blocked due to heavy landslides at several places. The Paonta Sahib-Shillai NH-707 was also blocked for vehicular movement due to road collapse and landslides near Hewana, Tilordhar and Shilla. The road was broken at some places and there was heavy debris on the road due to landslides. However, the private company engaged in the widening of NH-707 had started clearing the road this morning.

Kafota Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Rajesh Verma said machines had been deployed at landslide-prone areas. Efforts were being made to ensure that commuters did not face any problems, he added.
