Law varsity always been at forefront of nurturing legal minds: V-C
The Himachal Pradesh National Law University (NLU), Shimla, celebrated the 76th Republic Day with pride and enthusiasm at its campus on January 26. The event reflected a deep sense of patriotism and reverence for the Constitution of India and its democratic values.
The celebration began with the unfurling of the national flag by Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Priti Saxena, accompanied by faculty, staff and administrative officials. The ceremony opened with the national anthem, instilling a profound sense of unity and national pride among attendees.
Addressing the gathering, Prof (Dr) Saxena highlighted the significance of Republic Day and emphasised the importance of upholding the ideals enshrined in the Constitution. She spoke about the enduring strength of India’s democracy and the pivotal role of legal education in shaping future leaders who contribute to the nation’s progress.
“HPNLU has always been at the forefront of nurturing legal minds that are not only academically brilliant but also socially conscious citizens, ready to contribute to the betterment of society and the nation,” she stated.
She reiterated the university’s commitment to promoting democratic values and inspiring its community to actively participate in advancing the nation’s ethos. Prof (Dr) Saxena also underscored the transformative power of the law in safeguarding individual rights in India.
The celebration served as a reminder of the university’s mission to create a generation of legal professionals who are dedicated to societal progress and the preservation of democratic principles.
