Law varsity instates NCC unit; completes cadet selection

Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, instated a unit of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) on its campus and completed the first-year selection process of cadets. Prof Priti Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, HPNLU said, “The inclusion of the NCC at the HPNLU is a step towards instilling discipline, leadership and patriotism among law students. The selection witnessed participation from students across the various academic years. The selected cadets will undergo NCC training under the 7 HP (I) Coy NCC.”

She added, “The corps is vital in fostering a sense of civic responsibility and commitment to the nation among young legal professionals. The establishment of the unit at the law varsity will not only contribute to the character-building of students but also broaden their perspectives in public service and legal ethics.”

Dr Rohit Sharma, CTO-NCC, congratulated the newly-selected cadets. He said the NCC unit would work with local NCC battalions and would soon initiate its training and outreach programmes. “The university looks forward to the involvement of its NCC cadets in activities that align with the motto ‘Unity and Discipline’,” he said.
