Lecture dwells on China’s growing military capabilities

An in-depth analysis of China’s growing military capabilities, the People’s Liberation Army modernisation and the strategic challenges emerging in the Indo-Pacific region was presented by Major General Manjit Singh Mokha, SM, VSM (retd), during a special lecture delivered at the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies, Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), here today.

The theme of the lecture was “Multi-domain operations: Preparing for risks in the future environment, with a focus on China and PLA’s geostrategic and geopolitical perspectives.” At least 100 students attended the lecture. The lecture began with an introductory address by Prof Harish K Thakur.

The session included a brief motivational interaction, inspiring students to explore opportunities in national security studies and services. This was followed by an engaging question–answer round, during which students.

The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Asst Prof Akhilesh Thakur, appreciating the resource person’s insights and the enthusiastic participation of students. Dr Abha Chauhan Khimta, Chairperson, along with Asst Prof Dr Ashok Kumar, Asst Prof AkhileshThakur, and Asst Prof Piyush Panatu also attended the lecture.
