Lecturer booked for outraging modesty of girls in Indora school

The accused is present absconding and police teams are out to apprehend him

The Indora police, under the jurisdiction of the Nurpur police district, have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against a Hindi lecturer at a Government Senior Secondary School.

The case was filed on Saturday following allegations that the lecturer had been using vulgar language and attempting to outrage the modesty of girl students over the past several days.

As per information, the victims shared their ordeal with the school administration, which took cognisance of the matter and handed over an inquiry into the matter to the school disciplinary committee. The committee conducted an inquiry and recorded the statements of the victimised students. Based on its findings, the school administration submitted the inquiry report to the police for further action.

Nurpur Additional SP DC Verma said that the Indora police had registered an FIR under Section 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 10 of the POCSO Act on the basis of the school administration's complaint. He added that the accused was at present absconding and police teams had been dispatched to apprehend him.

Verma said that investigation into the allegations would proceed once the accused was arrested.
