THE LED streetlights installed by the local Municipal Council (MC) in all nine wards in Nurpur town are crying for immediate attention. These remain dysfunctional for days despite repeated complaints to the MC. In Ward Number 2 near children’s park, a number of LED streetlights have been out of order for the last 20 days. The lack of coordination between the MC and the HPSEBL staff seems to be the reason behind the problem. Residents are facing a lot of inconvenience due to it. The area plunges into complete darkness at night. The authorities should immediately address this problem. — Madhur Mahajan, Ward Number 2, Nurpur
Horses straying on road
One finds many horses wandering on the highway in and around Kufri. With tourism having been hit adversely, owners of these horses are out of work and they are left to graze in the jungle on their own. Often, many of them wander onto the road, causing threat to the safety of commuters, especially during late evening hours or on foggy days. — Pawan Thakur, Dhalli
