Snow in Shimla ahead of Christmas cheers locals and tourists
Snow fell in Shimla on Monday bringing cheer to locals as well as tourists.
Light snow started falling around 11 am at some places in the capital town and soon it turned heavy.
The tourists who are in the hill town for Christmas were delighted and were seen dancing in the snow.
“We were planning to leave today but have changed our mind now. We are enjoying ourselves,” said a family from Mohali.
It also snowed in nearby Kufri and Fagu.
According to the weather department, snow is likely to continue in Shimla and adjoining areas in the next few hours. Light to moderate snow is likely at many places in the districts of Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti.
The weather department has forecast a cold wave at many places in the state.
