Looking into lapses by J&K Police: Chamba SSP

A team of the J&K Police entered into Jaladi village here on Thursday night to look for a missing girl. However, it did not inform the Kihar police station, under which Jaladi falls, and later entered into an argument with the village residents. The police team claimed it had orders of the J&K High Court for the action.

Chamba SSP S Arul Kumar said procedural lapses of the J&K Police were being investigated so that next legal course of action could be followed with. As soon as the information reached Kihar police station, a team reached the spot and brought the situation under control. There was an atmosphere of peace in the area now, he added. — OC
