Rain havoc in Himachal: Losses mount to Rs 739 crore, 175 roads still blocked

Heavy rainfall continued to wreak havoc across the state as the total loss reached Rs 739.12 crore.

As per the Revenue Department, 175 roads across the state are still blocked for vehicular traffic. As many as 136 roads are blocked in Mandi, 14 in Kangra, 11 in Solan, six in Kullu, five in Una and two in Chamba districts. Similarly, at least 162 power distribution transformers (151 in Mandi, nine in Kullu and two in Chamba), and 755 water supply schemes (603 in Kangra, 137 in Mandi and 15 in Sirmaur) were disrupted.

Meanwhile, heavy rain is very likely to continue in isolated areas till July 15. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning of heavy rain for July 10, 13, 14 and 15.

The state would continue to experience light to moderate rainfall at many places till July 15 with a few spells of heavy rain at isolated places on July 10, 13, 14 and 15.

Meanwhile, heavy rain occurred in isolated places while light to moderate rain continued at many places of the state during the past 24 hours. No big change in the minimum and maximum temperatures in the state.
