The third cultural evening of the International Mahashivaratri Festival in Mandi turned into a mesmerising celebration of music and dance, with renowned Punjabi singer Kulwinder Billa stealing the show. His electrifying performance had the audience on their feet, dancing to his popular hits. Held at Mandi’s vibrant cultural venue, “Chhoti Kashi,” the event also featured a spectacular showcase of local folk artists, musicians, and dancers, adding to the festive spirit.

The evening commenced with a soulful Shehnai performance by the Biri Singh Dal, setting a divine and auspicious tone. This was followed by a series of captivating performances, with Kulwinder Billa lighting up the stage with his high-energy songs, including “Sem Time Sem Jagah,” “Kejra Mohabbat Wala,” “Chakwen Suit,” “Mitran Da Na Chalda,” and “Tutak Tutak.” His powerful voice and dynamic presence created an electrifying atmosphere, drawing enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

Adding to the excitement was folk singer Geeta Bhardwaj, who enthralled the crowd with her traditional Pahadi Nati dances and popular Hindi-Punjabi songs. Her soulful renditions of “Dhodu Bo Dhone Jo Dhoban Chali,” “Ek Aadhia Pilai Ja Re,” and “Dam Maro Dam” had the audience singing along and applauding her mesmerizing performance.

The festival also showcased the rich cultural diversity of Mandi, with several talented local artists taking the stage. Tanish from Sundernagar delivered a graceful dance performance, while Kakoo Ram Thakur from Chawwa impressed with his powerful Shiv Stuti and vibrant songs like “Mitran Da Na Chalda” and “Hao Rabba Hao Rabba.” Other performers, including Mohan Guleria from Karsog and Kashmir Singh from Mandi, left a lasting impression with their soulful musical acts.

The event was further enriched by dynamic dance performances from local groups, including Aditya Vardhan Dance Group from Kullu, Dream To Fly Dance Group from Mandi, and Sharda Sharma from Shimla. Their energetic performances brought the evening to a spectacular close. The presence of Rajesh Dharmani, Minister of Technical Education, as the chief guest added to the event’s prestige.
