The serene valleys of Shillai are preparing to witness a once-in-a-lifetime spiritual spectacle as Mahasu Maharaj (Chalda Maharaj) embarks on a historic journey from Uttarakhand to Himachal Pradesh this December. For the first time in the recorded history, the revered deity will cross the Tons river and reside for an entire year at Pashmi village in the Shillai Assembly constituency of Sirmaur district.

Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan chaired a meeting convened at the Panchayat Bhawan in Shillai today to review the preparations for the event and ensure flawless arrangements for the massive religious gathering. The minister directed the officials of all departments concerned to complete their responsibilities well before time to ensure that devotees face no inconvenience during the religious procession.

He also instructed the Police Department to prioritise the safety and security of thousands of devotees expected to accompany the deity and maintain a smooth flow of traffic throughout the event. According to estimates, around 25,000 to 30,000 devotees would join Mahasu Maharaj on this sacred journey. The deity would make a night halt at Drabil on December 13 before reaching Pashmi village on December 14, where the grand ceremonial stay would begin.

Chauhan emphasised the importance of coordination among departments and local committees and urged them to treat the occasion as a matter of pride for the entire region.
