Following a complaint by a girl from a village in Jawali, the Nurpur police booked a man hailing from a village under the Rehan police chowki last evening for allegedly sexually exploiting her on the pretext of marrying her. As per police information, the accused had been “exploiting” her since 2018 but had refused to marry her recently.

A case under Sections 376 and 509 of the IPC has been registered and medical examination of the woman has been conducted. The police declined to divulge the identity of the culprit till his arrest. — OC
