Man hailing from Delhi drowned in pond in Nurpur’s village

A person identified as Rajesh, alias Rinku (50), reportedly drowned in an old pond of historical Murdiyal temple in Hatli Jambwala gram panchayat of Nurpur on Thursday. The deceased was a resident of Sector 7, Rohini, Delhi, and had been working as a helper in a private hotel in Nurpur area for the past over two years.

He had been staying in the house of a resident of Hatli Jambwala. Deceased was father of two sons and earning his livelihood in Nurpur area.

He had gone to the temple pond to take a bath this morning and slipped in the deep water while bathing and was drowned. Locals spotted his body floating in the pond water this afternoon and informed local panchayat pradhan. The panchayat pradhan informed Nurpur police. Police fished out the body of the deceased with the help of local residents. A team of forensic experts examined the spot along with police.

The police, after recording the statement of local residents, sent the body to the Nurpur civil hospital’s mortuary for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered under section 194 of the BNSS and body handed over to the family after post-mortem.
