Man held for raping minor

A 26-year-old man from Kandaghat, district Solan, has been arrested for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl in Shimla, according to police reports.

The accused allegedly lured the minor to a hotel, where the incident occurred. The mother of the victim filed a police complaint, stating that she noticed her daughter's strange behaviour and approached her. The daughter then revealed her ordeal, explaining that the accused had taken her to the hotel under the pretext of an outing.

The police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. The accused has been booked under Sections 4, 64, and 65(1) of the respective Acts.
