Solan, July 17

The Solan police today registered a case of breach of trust, cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy against Dina Nath, a resident of Banet village here, for reselling one bigha bought by the BJP from him for setting up an office at Samlech in Solan to a couple. He had even got the payment of Rs 85 lakh for the land from the BJP.

According to a complaint made by BJP district president Ashutosh Vaid, the party had authorised Kapil Dev Sood, a Shimla resident, to execute the sale deed on the instructions of the then national party president on October 7, 2016. A party office was to be set up on the land.

Vaid said that the same day, Rs 35 lakh was transferred to Dina Nath’s account in Baghat Urban Cooperative Bank from the Oriental Bank of Commerce’s Shimla branch and another installment of Rs 50 lakh was paid at the time of registration of the sale deed on July 30, 2017, as per the agreement between them.

Vaid, who assumed the charge this year, said that it came to his notice that the land had been resold to a couple for Rs 26 lakh and its registration was done on February 17 this year.

The seller, therefore, cheated the BJP despite entering into an agreement and receiving the payment of Rs 85 lakh from it by selling the land again to someone else, said Solan Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav.
