According to a press release from the Una district police, the deceased were identified as Sadiq (51) and Shahid (18), originally from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. The duo had been residing in Una for the past 20 years and were engaged in the vegetable trade.

The incident came to light when Sharif, Sadiq’s second son, who was sleeping in an adjoining room, woke up around 8 am and went to serve tea to his father and brother. Upon finding them unresponsive, he alerted neighbours, who subsequently informed the village panchayat and police.
