According to the local police, the BRO initiated the work to restore the highway following the landslide near Dhundhi. Vehicles were stranded at Solang Nala and Dhundi due to the blockade. Significant damage was reported on a 2-km stretch ahead of the Dhundi bridge, prompting the authorities concerned to reroute all traffic through the Rohtang Pass from the north portal of the Atal Tunnel.

Lahaul and Spiti SP Mayank Chaudhary said that within two hours, the highway was reopened for one-way traffic. He advised travellers to drive vehicles carefully in the affected area.
