The carnival, designed to celebrate the winter season and showcase the rich cultural heritage of the region, is expected to boost tourism in the area.
Major attractions of the five-day festival will be Manali Winter Queen Contest, Voice of Carnival competition, Mahanati etc. Apart from this, street plays, which will be performed at various locations around the town, will add to the festive atmosphere. Furthermore, visitors can look forward to folk dance performances at Manu Rangshala, where local dancers will showcase traditional dances from the region, creating an immersive cultural experience for the attendees.
Raman Sharma, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Manali, expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating that the Winter Carnival is being organised with the aim of attracting more tourists to the town during the winter season.
"Manali has always been a popular tourist destination, but this carnival is aimed at further promoting our cultural heritage and the beauty of the winter season. We are confident that it will draw visitors from across the country and even internationally," the SDM said.
"The Winter Carnival will also provide an opportunity for local artisans and food vendors to showcase their products, with various stalls offering traditional handicrafts and local delicacies," he added. “Tourists and visitors are encouraged to plan their trips in advance to experience the vibrant winter celebrations in Manali.” the SDM said.
