Weightlifters bring laurels

The weightlifting club of Sacred Soul Cambridge School, Panjhara, brought laurels to the school by winning three gold, one silver and one bronze medal in the Open State Level Powerlifting Championship, organised by Himachal Pradesh Powerlifting Association at Solan on September 25 and 26. Ritish Malhotra won the gold medal in 53kg weight category, Vedansh won gold in 59kg category and Saksham lifted the title in the 74kg category.

Painting contest on drug abuse

To mark the 75th year of Independence, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College, Chamba, organised a painting competition regarding the ill-effects of drugs and intoxicants. About 90 students of MBBS year II participated in the event. Speaking on the occasion, principal Dr Ramesh Bharti said efforts must be made to save this and the coming generations from drugs.

Art fest at Bishop Cotton School

Students of Bishop Cotton School showcased their artistic talent and experienced various dimensions of contemporary art with well-known artists as part of Auramah Valley’s ongoing efforts to bring exclusive contemporary art to the forefront. Champa Tree organised The Auramah Valley Art Festival on September 27 and 28, curated by independent arts consultant and visual artist Archana Sapra, in collaboration with Manav Singh (Founder, Auramah Valley). The event saw over 15 artists interacting about their styles, narrative, background, inspirations, and their unique style of expression.

Ankita tops state in BA final

Ankita Sharma of MCM DAV College, Kangra, has topped the state in the BA final examinations. Indu Bala and Vaishali stood 8th and 10th, respectively. In B.Com final, Aryan Handa stood third in the state. Jyoti and Shivani Thakur bagged the 4th and 9th positions, respectively. In B.Sc final, Gourav Koundal stood 8th in the state. The college principal congratulated the students on their achievements.
