Residents of Mandi have been facing inconvenience over the past two days due to the temporary suspension of garbage collection services. The disruption has occurred as a result of severe rainfall in the region that has caused major damage to the road leading to the solid waste disposal site at Bindrabani.

Mandi Municipal Corporation Commissioner Rohit Rathour said the road to the Bindrabani waste disposal facility was badly affected by the recent rains. As a result, garbage collection from residential and commercial areas in the MC area had been temporarily halted.

Commissioner said the repair work on the damaged road was being carried out on a war footing with the support of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). He expressed confidence that the route would be restored soon, allowing the MC to resume regular waste collection and disposal operations without further delay.

The Commissioner also appealed to the citizens for cooperation during the emergency, urging them not to spread household waste outside unnecessarily.

He reassured the public that the MC was fully committed to maintaining cleanliness and ensuring public convenience. He emphasised that it was a temporary problem and the administration was doing everything possible to resolve it at the earliest.
