“Mangal Pandey may not be with us but his ideology still rules the heart of every citizen of the country.” This message was given by Mathura’s Krishana Ramgam theatre group here today as a play ‘1857 Shaheed Mangal Pandey’ was staged at Gothic Hall in historic Gaiety Theatre.

The play story revolves around the life of Mangal Pandey, an Indian soldier who is known for his revolt against the British in 1857. Through this play, the actors tried to highlight the sacrifices of Pandey.

The play has been written by Pramod Lavanya and directed by Deepak Jadaun, who also played the character of Mangal Pandey in the play.

Other cast of the play include Harshit Kashyap who played the character of Mitchell, Renu Chaudhary as Mitchell’s fiancé and Chandan as waiter. Prashant Bhardwaj, Anup Jana, Bhuvnesh Upadhyay played multiple characters.
