Agriculture, Tribal Development and IT Minister Dr Ram Lal Markanda on Monday reviewed power supply and road connectivity in tribal areas.
The minister said funds were being provided to Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL), regularly, under Tribal Sub-Plan, for better power supply in the tribal areas.
Markanda directed Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited officials to ensure regular power supply in the tribal areas during the ongoing winter season.
Regarding the functioning of Rongtong Power House, the minister directed HPSEBL authorities to sort out the issue of ownership with Generation and Operation Wings of HPSEBL and director (technical). He directed the authorities to repair the damage of water intake channel in the Rongtong Power House before March 2020.
Markanda also directed the Public Works Department authorities to make all-out efforts to keep the roads open during the ongoing winter season. He also reviewed the construction of 106.330-km-long Attargu-Sagnam-Mudh-Bhaba road, Leo Bypass road and Bridge.
With the completion of the projects, the distance between Shimla and Kaza would be reduced by 105 kms and an all weather road would be available to the people of Kinnaur and Spiti valley, Markanda said.
