Mata Chintpurni temple to be spruced up, provide better facilities: Dy CM
On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri unfurled the National Flag at the Una Boys School ground during a district level function. He also took salute at a march past presented by contingents of Himachal Police, Home Guards, NCC and NSS.
Speaking on the occasion, Agnihotri paid rich tributes to all people who contributed towards making India, a democratic and a republic nation. He said the security, safety, development and empowerment of our citizens is enshrined in our Constitution.
The Dy CM said Himachal Pradesh has made major strides after Independence and the state is a model among the hill states of the country as regards development in all fields. He said the upcoming bulk drug park in Haroli sub division will boost the economy of the locals and also provide employment opportunities. He said the central and state governments will be spending Rs 1,000 crores each for development of infrastructure at the park.
Agnihotri said the HRTC fleet will soon have 700 new buses to provide travel facilities to the people of the state as well as bring in more tourists here. He informed that the Mata Chintpurni temple in Una district will be given a facelift and additional facilities for the devotees will be provided at a cost of Rs 250 crores. He said the state government has upgraded three Municipal Councils to the status of Municipal Corporation, including Una city, adding that this will bring in greater and speedy development in the areas.
The Dy CM said lately, there were reports of threat calls received by businessmen in Una district from alleged gangs involved in money extortion. He said the government is committed to security of the residents and there was no cause for worry, adding that the Himachal Police is exchanging information with their counterparts in Punjab regarding the issue. He said the state government has zero tolerance towards corruption, drugs menace and illegal mining.
Agnihotri honoured the family members of Sepoy Dilbar Khan, a resident of Garbhasada village in Bangana sub division, who was posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra for his gallantry. He also honoured the family members of Kulwinder Singh, who also made the supreme sacrifice while fighting terror in Jammu and Kashmir. Kulwinder Singh hailed from Pandoga village of Haroli sub division.
School children performed cultural items, while tableaux depicting the various welfare schemes by different government departments also drove past the people to create public awareness.
