He noted that the UNESCO had declared February 21 as International Mother Language Day to promote the global dissemination of mother language and raise awareness about linguistic and cultural diversity. He said in India, 'Matribhasha Diwas' is observed on this day to foster appreciation for linguistic diversity and multilingualism worldwide, with a particular focus on promoting the use of one's mother tongue.

Neha Mishra from the Hindi department provided a brief history and explained the significance of 'Matribhasha Diwas', while Deepshikha from the English Department recited the Pahari poem 'Khind' by poet Ratan Chand Nijhar. A college student, Rupali, also recited the poem 'Kangra Kathiyali'.
