Melodious renditions keep the crowd captivated at Dasehra fest

The fourth cultural evening of the International Kullu Dasehra Festival unfolded as a spectacular celebration of music, rhythm and heritage, captivating audiences with superlative performances. Renowned singer Kumar Sahil, whose stage presence and soulful renditions kept the crowd energised and on their feet, stole the limelight.

As Sahil stepped onto the stage, he was greeted with thunderous applause, cheers and whistles. His popular Hindi hits ignited excitement across the venue. Joining him was Mamta Bhardwaj, whose enchanting voice and blend of Himachali folk and Bollywood melodies elevated the festive spirit. Together, they embodied the harmonious fusion of tradition and modernity that defines the essence of Kullu Dasehra.

The mood in the evening was elevated by the presence of Manali MLA Bhuvneshwar Gaur, who received a traditional Kullvi welcome from the Dasehra Committee. He joined the audience in celebrating the cultural showcase, which reflected both regional artistry and national flair, drawing enthusiastic applause from a packed venue.

Local talent added depth and diversity to the line-up. Singers Karan Kaundal and Kala Devi mesmerised the audience, while dynamic dance acts by Shambhavi and Nishit infused youthful energy into the audience.

The traditional Kullvi Nati, a cornerstone of Himachali celebrations, once again stole the show. Its vibrant costumes and rhythmic choreography brought the spirit of the hills to life, inviting both locals and visitors to join in the revelry. Folk artists Ranjana Kumari, BK Chauhan, Rajender Verma and Kusum Jassi contributed with their melodious tunes.

Adding another layer to the cultural mosaic, the Shimla LAC troupe delivered a spirited folk dance, while singers Sanjeev Dhiman, Krishna Verma, Hemant Sharma and Vishal Jaswal had the crowd swaying and clapping.

This fourth evening reaffirmed the International Kullu Dasehra Festival’s reputation as one of India’s premier cultural gatherings, a blend of devotion, tradition and entertainment. As the night drew to a close amid cheers and shimmering lights, one truth rang clear, Kullu’s cultural heartbeat continues to echo through its music, dance and enduring traditions.
