Mercury plummets in Himachal Pradesh as higher hills receive fresh snowfall
Minimum temperatures across the state ranged from 0°C to 30°C, while maximum temperatures ranged from 16°C to 34°C
Mercury levels dropped across the state as snowfall and rainfall continued to occur. As a result, most places in the state experienced colder temperatures throughout the day. According to the state’s meteorological department, light snowfall accompanied by rainfall was reported in isolated areas over the past 24 hours.
Minimum temperatures across the state ranged from 0°C to 30°C, while maximum temperatures ranged from 16°C to 34°C. The minimum temperature in Shimla dropped by 1.1°C, with the state capital recording a minimum temperature of 11.5°C. Although the weather was mostly cloudy throughout the day, the town experienced a spell of light rainfall in the afternoon, causing the temperature to drop.
Other locations reported the following minimum temperatures: Dharamshala 11.8°C, Manali 7.2°C, Kangra 15.2°C, Mandi 15.3°C, Solan 12.2°C, Hamirpur 16°C, Bilaspur 17.1°C, Palampur 12°C, Bhuntar 13°C, Nahan 15.1°C, Kalpa 5.2°C, Kufri 9.8°C, and Narkanda 8.1°C.
Una recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 32.9°C, while Kukumseri village in the tribal district of Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest, with a minimum temperature of 0.3°C. Meanwhile, the weather is expected to remain dry across the state until October 29. Maximum temperatures are likely to remain normal over the next two to three days, while minimum temperatures are expected to drop by 1°C to 2°C during the same period.
