Minister inaugurates Rs 1.4-crore Panchayat Ghar in Kasumpti

Says 17 Panchayat Ghar projects are underway in the Kasumpti constituency, while 125 projects have been approved across the state within just two years

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh inaugurated the newly constructed Panchayat Ghar Barmu in Gram Panchayat Barmu Kelti, under the Kasumpti Assembly Constituency on Saturday.

Singh said the multi-storey Panchayat Ghar, built at a cost of Rs 1.14 crore, will greatly benefit local residents. Earlier, the panchayat office was functioning from a rented room.

He said new Panchayat Ghars are being constructed across Himachal Pradesh with uniform architectural designs, including standardised colours, tiles and roofs.

“Seventeen Panchayat Ghar projects are underway in the Kasumpti constituency, while 125 projects have been approved across the state within just two years,” Singh said.

The minister also shared that 75 per cent of the sewerage work in Kelti has been completed and lauded the cooperation of local residents in ensuring smooth progress of development projects.

“The Kelti area has witnessed unprecedented development, made possible through the collective support of the people,” he added.

Singh said the allocation for the Kelti Patwar Khana has been enhanced from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 42 lakh. He announced that three bighas of land are available for constructing a community hall, urging local residents to finalise the site.

He also encouraged the community to identify land for the establishment of a playground and parking area, assuring that budgetary provisions would be made for both projects once land is finalised.
