Minister inaugurates Jakhando Panchayat Bhawan’s ground floor

Industries, Parliamentary Affairs and Labour and Employment Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan today inaugurated the newly-constructed ground floor of the Jakhando Panchayat Bhawan in Shillai Assembly constituency. With this, the first phase of the construction of the panchayat building, being built at a total cost of Rs 1.14 crore, has completed at a cost of Rs 52 lakh.

Addressing a public gathering after the inauguration, the minister congratulated the residents for getting a new panchayat building and assured that the construction of the second floor would also be completed soon. He reiterated his government’s commitment to ensuring basic amenities for every household in the remote areas of the constituency.

Highlighting the significant progress made in the health and education sectors, Chauhan said that out of the 30 health sub-centres in the constituency, only five had staff earlier, but now 95 per cent of the centres had been provided with healthcare personnel. He added that eight new doctors had recently been posted in the constituency.

The minister added that over 200 JBT teachers had been appointed by the Education Department, and every school had a TGT arts teacher. Efforts are underway to fill the vacant TGT Medical and Non-Medical posts in all schools, he said.

Remarking that the all-round development in Shillai was the result of the Congress government’s continued efforts, Chauhan said that during the current tenure, extensive works of road connectivity, education, healthcare, drinking water, electricity and other basic sectors had been executed. He said that developmental projects worth over Rs 300 crore had been sanctioned for the constituency, with many already in progress.

Chauhan directed officials to expedite land gift deeds for several link roads, including Jamli–Khandkha via Devnal–Shakol, Satwad, Bhagnari–Gundra–Bandrah, Dharwa–Bhatewadi–Kauta–Thelegu, and Jakhando link roads. He also instructed the department concerned to prepare a proposal for the Bandrah–Kauta–Telenu drinking water scheme.

Announcing financial assistance for various local projects, the minister sanctioned Rs 2 lakh each for Guga Temple at Bhatori, Community Bhawan at Bhagnari, and the premises of Shirgul Temple at Bhagnari. He also announced Rs 2 lakh each for Mahila Mandal Jakhandon and Mahila Mandal Bhatori, Rs 1 lakh for Nav Yuvak Mandal Jakhandon, and Rs 2 lakh for Mahashu Temple Devnal.

Later, the minister heard the grievances of local residents and delegations, who presented both individual and community-level issues. Most problems were resolved on the spot, while pending matters were directed to officials for time-bound redressal. Chauhan assured the public that all genuine demands raised during the interaction would be fulfilled at the earliest.
