Industries, Parliamentary Affairs, and Labour and Employment Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan today inaugurated a newly constructed power subdivision office at Panog panchayat in the Ladhi region of Shillai Assembly constituency. Built at a cost of Rs 25 lakh, the office is linked to the 33 KVA sub-station that has already resolved low voltage issues in the Ladhi and Haripurdhar areas.

Upon his arrival, Chauhan received a grand welcome from residents with traditional musical instruments. Addressing a public gathering after the inauguration, he said the new office would benefit around 7,000 electricity consumers across 20 panchayats in the region. He credited the Congress government for establishing the Panog 33 KVA sub-station, which is ensuring steady power supply.

Highlighting broader power sector development, Chauhan revealed that under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), the state government has approved Rs 155 crore for Sirmaur district. Installation of 175 new transformers will be undertaken in Shillai constituency alone, also benefiting parts of Paonta Sahib and Rajgarh.

Criticising the previous BJP government for making hollow promises in Shillai, Chauhan emphasised that the current government has allocated over Rs 250 crore for development projects in roads, education, health, drinking water, and electricity sectors. So far, 125 km of roads have been metalled, and additional classrooms have been built in nearly 200 schools. He assured the public that every area of the constituency is being developed through budget-backed planning.

Chauhan said teacher vacancies in local schools had been filled and efforts were underway to fill posts in all Primary Health Centres (PHCs) to ensure health services reach every household.
