Minister lays stone of Chamshu bridge

Education Minister Rohit Thakur today laid the foundation stone for Chamshu bridge, which will be built at a cost of Rs 5 crore. The bridge will connect Jubbal and Rohru, benefiting residents of Ravin, Bholad and Mandal Panchayats, as well as farmers near the Pabbar River.

During his visit to his home constituency, Jubbal-Nawar-Kotkhai, Thakur also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several projects worth crores. He thanked Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu for approving the bridge project and inaugurated the Anti Sabhar to Dharkoti Serti road, constructed for Rs 67 lakh.

Addressing party workers and locals in Kuddu, he highlighted the unprecedented development in the region over the past two and a half years. More than 15 roads have been built in Khanashni and nearby areas, while six new roads have been approved in Pandaranu and Solang. The construction of the Primary Health Center in Pandaranu is underway, and new school buildings have been completed in Nandpur, Dakhrentu, and Rathal.

Thakur emphasised the state government’s commitment to quality education. In the past two years, several key positions have been filled in the Education Department, including 119 College Principals, 313 School Principals, 483 Assistant Professors, and 700 PGTs. Recruitment and promotions continue to strengthen the education system.

He assured locals that their demands would be addressed on priority. Several public representatives and government officials attended the event.
