Minor girl dies while working in Baddi unit
Irate workers have demanded action against the management of an appliance manufacturing company at Bhatoli Kalan village in Baddi as a minor girl (14) working there died after being entangled in a machine.
Additional SP Baddi Ashok Verma said a case of causing death due to negligence has been registered against the management of Jainsons Appliances, Bhatoli Kalan, after a minor girl died.
The company staff held that the deceased, identified as Muskan, had joined just two days ago. She was supposed to furnish her Aadhaar card to the firm in a day or two.
The deceased was assigned to place boxes over a conveyor belt in the company. She was, however, supposed to work in the packaging section which was safer.
Nisha (15), working in the same company, informed that dupatta of the deceased was stuck in the conveyor belt and then her hair got entangled in the machine which proved fatal. She was rushed to a hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The girl’s mother rushed to the company after being informed about the mishap from fellow workers.
Irate workers protested outside the unit and demanded action against the management for hiring minor girls. They alleged that more minor girls were working in the unit in violation of the norms.
The working of the labour department has also come under the scanner as minors have been deputed in the company in violation of the norms.
