He was accompanied by officials from MoRTH, the Public Works Department, Jal Shakti Department, the SDM Kotli office, Forest Department and the HP State Electricity Board.
During the visit, Sharma interacted with families affected by the ongoing highway work and listened to their grievances. Taking note of the issues raised, he directed MoRTH and all concerned departments to ensure timely resolution. Issuing strict instructions to officials, the MLA emphasised that no compromise on quality would be tolerated at any stage of the construction.
Due to a large number of complaints regarding the project, the inspection could only be completed up to the Kotli stretch. Sharma stated that the remaining portion of the highway under the Mandi Assembly constituency would be inspected on a later date.
The MLA urged officials to expedite work while maintaining safety and environmental norms, stressing that the project holds crucial importance for improving regional connectivity and easing travel for residents.
