MLA Crossing-Tawi Mor road in Shimla to remain closed for two days
Traffic to be diverted for maintenance work
Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap today said that the link road from the MLA Crossing to Tawi Mor would remain closed to all types of vehicles, except emergency vehicles, from 11 am to 4 pm on November 8 and 9 to facilitate the metalling and tarring work.
According to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Shimla, traffic would be regulated through alternative routes during the road closure. Small vehicles travelling from the MLA Crossing to the Boileauganj Chowk, near Government School, would be diverted via the Chaura Maidan-Boileauganj route. From the Boileauganj Chowk to Summerhill or Chaura Maidan, these vehicles would proceed along the Boileauganj-Summerhill-Chaura Maidan road.
All buses and heavy vehicles would be diverted through the Chakkar Marg and vehicles travelling from Shimla to Bilaspur would also take the same route. Similarly, vehicles coming towards Shimla from the Boileauganj-Summerhill Chowk side for the Tawi Mor road would be rerouted via Chakkar Marg. However, vehicles heading towards Boileauganj, Chakkar or Summerhill would be permitted to move through Boileauganj Marg.
The Deputy Commissioner urged commuters to adhere to traffic advisories and cooperate with the district administration to ensure smooth and safe completion of the road maintenance work.
