MLA orders probe into poor construction of trout farm
Bharmour, June 8
Bharmour MLA Jia Lal Kapoor has directed the Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Bharmour, to conduct an inquiry into the alleged sub-standard construction of the Thalla trout farm of the Fisheries Department. He said the issue would be brought to the notice of the government in the next Vidhan Sabha session. Kapoor presided over a meeting of the Project Advisory Committee of Bharmour tribal subdivision on Monday.
He said the Thalla trout farm was constructed at the cost of Rs 5 crore and was inaugurated in 2017. But there were reports of leakage in the sedimentation tank and cracks in the walls of a hatchery.
He asked the NHAI to start tarring work beneath Bharmour town. He also directed the Chamera-II and Chamera-II power station officials to repair damaged roads falling in the jurisdiction of its reservoirs. Kapoor said under the tribal sub-plan, Rs 65.79 crore was being spent on various developmental works in Bharmour tribal sub-division. — OC
