Krishna Allaveru, AICC joint secretary, and Sriniwas VB, All-India Youth Congress president, today said it was the wrong policies of the Modi regime which had resulted in a major setback to economy.
Addressing a press conference here today, the Congress leaders said the Modi-led BJP regime was pro-capitalists, extending them benefits. “The Modi regime had promised to create jobs for 2 crore people annually but the fact is that it is only a handful of crony capitalists who had benefited,” said Sriniwas.
He said employment was at its highest in the last 45 years which was a cause for concern. State Youth Congress president Nigam Bhandari was also present.
He said there was no check on price rise with petrol prices touching Rs 100 per litre. “The BJP regime is calling farmers anti-nationals, whereas the truth is that the violence at the Red Fort on January 26 was part of a major conspiracy, hatched to defame the farmers and fizzle out their agitation,” he alleged. The Congress would raise its voice against all such issues which are anti-farmers or against the interest of the common man.
The two leaders said the promise of ushering in “achhe din” had come true, but only for the industrialists.
