Mortar shell found in Indora, defused by Army
A live mortar shell was found in roadside bushes at Sanor under Indora police station jurisdiction in Nurpur police district on Wednesday. A passerby first spotted it and informed the local police.
DSP, Indora, Sanjiv Kumar, along with a police team, rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area where the shell was lying. The police, after taking precautionary measures, intimated the Indian Army authorities at Mamoon Cantt in Pathankot. A bomb disposal squad neutralised the shell with a controlled explosion.
The DSP appealed to the general public not to panic and don’t spread rumours. He also advised them not to touch any suspicious object found anywhere in the area. He said that this mortal shell could be the result of the Pakistan-India conflict after the brutal massacre of tourists by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists at Pahalgam in Kashmir.
