Activists of various Hindu organisations carried out a protest march in Dharamsala today afternoon against the police lathi-charge on people protesting against the unauthorised construction of a mosque in Sanjauli area of Shimla. The protesters raised slogans against the current Congress government. They alleged that the police had resorted to lathi-charge of people who were protesting peacefully against the unauthorised construction inside a mosque.

The Hindu outfits alleged that the Congress government in the state was supporting ‘illegal immigration’ of unauthorised people in the state that was disturbing peace in the state. The government should have acted as per the law and removed the unauthorised construction, rather than resorting to lathi-charge of protestors. The Hindu outfits, including the VHP and the Bajrang Dal, have threatened to intensify their stir against the government if the unauthorised structure was not brought down.
