Motorcyclists travel 100 km to celebrate 78 yrs of freedom

Headquarters Army Training Command (ARTRAC), Shimla, here today organised a ‘Freedom Bike Rally’ to commemorate the 78th Independence Day in which a team of motorcyclists consisting of 36 military personnel and civilian enthusiasts participated.
The 100-km bike rally, which followed the route from Shimla-Kufri-Chail-Kandaghat-Shimla, was flagged off from Annandale by Lieutenant General Dheerendra Singh Kushwah, Chief of Staff, Headquarters ARTRAC.
With the Tricolour on motorcycles, the rally motivated youngsters and local population en route by a variety of curated events and interactions to strive for excellence in all spheres and showcased the coordination, congruence and collaboration between the Army and residents of the region.
During the event, the Lt Gen said this event was designed to give the riders an opportunity to commemorate the gallant sacrifice of the armed forces and motivate the youth towards nation-building. “This initiative was not only aimed at honouring the spirit of Independence Day, but also highlighted Unity in Cultural and Ethnic Diversity.”
He said similar events were being organised across the country. He also congratulated people on the eve of Independence Day.
