With 290 new cases being reported today, the tally of Covid cases swelled to 14,747 in the state and the fatality figure was 178 as three persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours. Rajya Sabha MP Indu Goswami was among those who tested Covid positive.
Two deaths took place in Kangra and one in Shimla. The highest number of 65 cases was reported in Shimla, 59 in Solan, 51 in Kangra, 23 each in Sirmaur and Una, 19 in Bilaspur, 15 each in Mandi and Chamba, 14 in Kullu, and three each in Hamirpur and Lahaul Spiti.
Indu Goswami, Rajya Sabha member from Himachal, tested Covid positive on Tuesday. According to sources, she was asymptomatic and had been advised home isolation by the health authorities.
2 deaths in Kangra
A 52-year-old man from Bharmar, near Jawali, and a 65-year-old man from Kaned village near Dharamsala died of coronavirus at Tanda medical college in Kagra on Tuesday. Besides, 51 persons, including 14 in Police Training College at Daroh, near Palampur, tested positive.
59 cases in Solan
Fifty-nine persons, including a doctor at the ESI, Parwanoo, and 10 employees of a private company at Solan, tested positive for coronavirus in Solan district on Tuesday. The maximum number of 40 cases was reported in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh belt. Twenty-three Covid cases were reported in Sirmaur district.
