Ms Earth India ’22 Vanshika Parmar is Himachal tourism ambassador

Miss Earth India 2022, Vanshika Parmar, said here today that she had been made the ambassador of tourism for Himachal Pradesh. She would represent the state at the international level and present to the world a window on its unexplored scenic treasures, picturesque landscapes, rich cultural heritage and festivals.
Vanshika, while talking to mediapersons here, said the decision was taken at a meeting with Tourism Director Mansi Thakur. She added that documentary and feature films would be made on the state and showcased at the international level.
Events like Umling-la International Fashion Runway — that was organised in Ladakh — would also be held in Himachal Pradesh, she said.
Vanshika said she would also serve as the ambassador of the Himachal Pradesh Election Department for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. “I will be participating in campaigns to create awareness on the voting right and inspire and motivate the electorate to ensure a greater participation in the elections,” she added.
She said that she had met Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu recently and he asked her to join forces with the state government and work for women empowerment and the welfare of single girl child.
Vanshika was born at Tunhi village in Nadaun tehsil of Hamirpur district. Her father SK Parmar is an officer in the Indian Air Force. She is an Indian beauty pageant titleholder and was crowned Miss Earth India 2022 at the age of 19.
She went on to represent India at the coveted Miss Earth 2022 pageant in the Philippines, which is one of the top three alpha beauty pageants of the world. She has also represented the country at the Umling-la International Fashion Runway organised under the Vibrant Ladakh Scheme by the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council in association with the Indian Army and the BRO to commemorate India’s G-20 presidency.
Vanshika had also served as the ambassador of eco-tourism in the Philippines during the course of her Miss Earth 2022 journey and received an invitation from Ghana’s Tourism Ministry to advocate for eco-tourism and environmentally conscious initiatives in Africa.
