The three-day Himachal Pradesh International Trade Fair 2024, organised under the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), concluded on Wednesday with a grand closing ceremony at the Chaugan ground in Nahan. The event was graced by Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner Sumit Khimta was the chief guest at the event.

During the ceremony, Khimta took the opportunity to visit various exhibitions set up by self-help groups (SHGs) and MSME entrepreneurs.

Addressing the gathering, Khimta congratulated all MSME members for the successful organisation of the trade fair.

He said promoting SHGs was one of his key priorities.

Both the Centre and the state government were deeply committed to empowering women, and had been implementing numerous schemes to strengthen their economic position, he added.

He said the trade fair had provided a significant platform for SHGs and small entrepreneurs to display and sell products they had created, which could help them expand their businesses and reach broader markets. During the event, Assistant Director AK Gautam expressed his gratitude to the DC for his valuable contribution to the fair’s success, and gave a detailed presentation about the various development schemes initiated by the MSME Ministry.

To honour participants, the DC distributed certificates of appreciation to the entrepreneurs and members of the SHGs who took part in the fair.

Earlier, PHDCCI Director Anil Sokhla presented the chief guest with a shawl, cap and a memento as a token of respect.

The three-day event saw the participation of 50 industries and SHGs.

Additionally, several government departments organised exhibitions to inform the public about various government schemes and programmes aimed at improving livelihoods.
