Solan Additional DC Zafar Iqbal has been entrusted with the magisterial inquiry that he will complete in a week while Solan Additional SP Ashok Verma is probing the negligence that led to the incident.

The technical report from the Public Works Department’s mechanical wing will form the basis of their probe as it will throw light on technical aspects like timely maintenance, etc.

The resort management has suspended the cable car operations and is conducting a separate probe to ascertain what led to the mechanical failure, said its counsel Nikhil Goyal.

Tourists, however, continued to visit the resort and enquires are pouring in for the resumption if the cable car, which is a major attraction of the resort.
