‘My Deed’ project launched in Himachal's 10 tehsils, will make land registration easier

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today launched the ‘My Deed’ pilot project in 10 tehsils of the state, making land registry easier and more convenient for people. “Now, the citizens of the state need to visit the revenue office only once for getting their land registry done. They can apply for land registration anytime and from anywhere, which will save their time and effort,” he said while launching the ‘My Deed’ project here.

The project was launched at 10 places in Bilaspur Sadar, Dalhousie (Chamba), Galore (Hamirpur), Jaisinghpur (Kangra), Bhuntar (Kullu), Padhar (Mandi), Kumarsain (Shimla), Rajgarh (Sirmaur), Kandaghat (Solan) and Bangana (Una).

He said, “Technology should be used to improve services, help people, bring transparency and make revenue services more efficient. We should move towards a system that is paperless, presence less and cashless so that people can get government services while sitting at home.”

Sukhu also launched a new format of “Jamabandi”, e-Roznamcha Vakyati, and “Kaarguzari” initiatives to improve the working of the Revenue Department and make the process more people-friendly and easier. He said that the new “Jamabandi” format had been made simpler in basic Hindi and Urdu and Arabic and Farsi had been removed so that common people could easily understand land records. The e-Roznamcha Vakyati would help patwaris to keep a digital record of daily events, while “Kaarguzari” would be used for marking daily attendance online.

He also directed the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the Department of Digital Technologies and Governance to speed up work on various digital modules to make revenue services more efficient and people-friendly. He also asked the NIC to develop an online mutation module within 15 days to help expedite the registration of mutations and linking them directly to “Jamabandi” records.

Sukhu instructed the officials that a digitally-signed “Jamabandi” module be developed within 10 days so that people did not have to visit “Patwarkhanas” to get a “fard” (copy of land records). He also directed them to prepare an online, paperless revenue court management system within 15 days.
