He was scheduled to arrive in the afternoon in a helicopter but had to alter his travel plan due to an inclement weather in Shimla. His helicopter could not take off from the Gaggal Airport in Kangra due to the bad weather. Eventually, he travelled by road and reached Chamba late in the evening. A party workers’ meeting he was scheduled to address at Sarol village near Chamba was also cancelled due to the delayed arrival.

Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Mahajan, Kangra MP Rajeev Bhardwaj, BJP state president Rajeev Bindal, Kangra-Chamba in-charge Vipin Parmar and District BJP president Dheeraj Naryal felicitated Nadda on his arrival. MLAs Hansraj, DS Thakur and Janak Raj and former Bhattiyat MLA Vikram Jaryal, besides Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal were also present.

Later in the evening, the Union Health Minister presided over a meeting to review the progress of various development schemes being implemented under the Aspirational District Programme.

Nadda, while talking to mediapersons later, said that the Congress government gave advertisements worth crores of rupees to newspapers like National Herald, which were neither sold nor seen in Himachal Pradesh, was a misuse of public money.

He alleged that neither pension nor the salaries in the state were being given to employees on time.

Tomorrow, Nadda would offer prayers at the historic Laxmi Narayan Temple in Chamba and would also interact with party workers before returning to New Delhi later in the afternoon.
