Shimla: Health ministry issues Covid prevention advisory for children
Shimla, july 2
The state Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, in collaboration with the National Health Systems Resource Centre, released a new Covid-19 prevention and management protocol for children.
As per the protocol, children above two years of age should be trained for Covid-appropriate behaviour, including washing hands regularly and maintaining social distancing. A government spokesperson said the children above the age of five years should also be taught how to wear a mask before going out.
“The major Covid symptoms seen in a child are similar to that in adults. These include fever or chills, cough, nasal congestion, loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath, poor appetite,” said he said. —TNS
