Nagar panchayat status sought for Rehan

NURPUR, DECEMBER 10

Residents of Rehan gram panchayat have raised the demand for the nagar panchayat status at a meeting today. Some residents also sought the creation of one more panchayat out of the existing gram panchayat. The SDM, Fatehpur, was also present at the meeting.

The Fatehpur Development Committee has passed a resolution. Ramesh Kumar, pradhan of Rehan gram panchayat, said due to urbanisation in Rehan, it had become difficult to maintain cleanliness in the town and after public demand, the panchayat would soon pass a resolution regarding this.

Balwan Chand, SDM, Fatehpur, said the administration would forward the resolution to the government through the Deputy Commissioner, Kangra.
