Isha, a Class XII student of PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School, Nagrota Surian, has earned national recognition by securing first place in the wetland-awareness competition Seva Parv. After topping the state-level round, she outperformed participants from 18 states at the national stage. Her remarkable achievement has led to her selection for the First Wetland School Network Asia Conference in Haikou, Hainan, China — making her the only student chosen from India for this prestigious international event.
Accompanying her will be her teacher and Eco-Club in-charge Meena Rani. The conference is scheduled from December 10 to 12. Following the official communication from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, New Delhi, celebrations erupted in the region, with school staff, local panchayat members and community leaders extending their warm congratulations.
School principal Harbhajan Singh Sohal lauded Isha as a “very talented student” from Gram Panchayat Sugnara and conveyed his best wishes to her family. He also confirmed that preparations and formalities for her China visit are underway.
