Nahan school gets 3 classrooms

Deputy Speaker of the Himachal Assembly Vinay Kumar today reiterated the commitment of the state government to provide quality education to students near their homes in far-flung areas.

Vinay was addressing a gathering after inaugurating three newly constructed classrooms at Government High School at Dhayli in Thana Kasoga gram panchayat in Nahan tehsil of Sirmaur district. The new academic block has been built at a cost of Rs 47.60 lakh to provide improved infrastructure and a better learning environment to the students of the region.

He urged all stakeholders to work collectively to make Himachal Pradesh a leading state in the field of education. He called for continued efforts to enhance the quality of learning.

The Deputy Speaker directed the Education Department to prepare an estimate for the construction of the school’s boundary wall and the main entrance gate and submit it to the Directorate for budgetary approval.

He said that the school’s upgrade to high school level was sanctioned during his tenure as MLA to ensure that local students no longer have to travel to distant areas for higher education. He said the tender for the Dadahu-Tirmlai road had been finalised and Rs 2 crore had been earmarked for its upgrade. The work on the road would commence shortly.

Vinay interacted with local residents, listened to their concerns and directed the Public Works, Jal Shakti and Electricity departments to resolve their issues promptly.
