From the Nahan school campus, local MLA Ajay Solanki and Principal Dr Ashima Raghav joined the ceremony virtually. The inclusion of this school under the prestigious PM SHRI (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India) scheme marks a major leap in enhancing educational infrastructure in Sirmaur district.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, while addressing the gathering, said, “Education is the foundation of a developed India. The PM SHRI schools will ensure holistic development, rooted in Indian values yet aligned with global standards. I am proud to dedicate this school to our daughters of Nahan, who are the future leaders of our country.”

The upgraded school now stands as Sirmaur district’s best-equipped government school under the scheme, offering advanced facilities such as smart classrooms, a digital library, modern science and computer laboratories, and enriched teaching resources. These improvements aim to transform the overall academic environment and ensure a 21st-century learning experience for students, especially girls.

The dedication of this school is a key step under the PM SHRI initiative, which was launched by the Government of India on September 7, 2022. The scheme seeks to develop more than 14,500 existing schools across the country into model institutions.
